MySuru: Forest officials who have undergone massive surgery to capture tigers who have recently persecuted a tribal youth near Nagarahole Tiger Reserve, has discovered a tiger that was injured in the edge of the forest.
Six teams consisting of 100 forest staff placed in different locations began search operations on Sundays.
They have also called Elephah Camp, Arjuna and Balarama, and are installed around 70 cameras traps to track the animal.
Ganesha, 22, a tribal youth and resident of Aianake Haadi in Hanagodu Hobli near the Veerahosahahli Forest Range, was persecuted to death by the tiger on Wednesday when he went to attend a natural call near his house.
With the locals ventilation their anger, Foresters rushed to the place and placed a cage in place to catch tigers.
A forest officer told toi that they had caught three tigers in different locations roaming the camera trap.
Of the three tigers, someone had an injury to his back.
“We suspect that the tiger might be hurt in a territorial battle with another dominant man who left him unable to hunt in the forest.
This might have led the injured tigers to roam from the forest and attack young people.
We haven’t confirmed our suspicion,” the officer said .
“We are ready with sedatives to penetrate animals and towards the higher authority will shift animals to the rehabilitation center,” the officer added.
