Thiruvananthapuram: Fresh Covid-19 cases continued to increase in Kerala with the state on Sunday lowered 6,238 new infections and 44 deaths that raised derivatives to 52,76,417 and lives to 49,591.
From death, 30 were recorded over the past few days and 14 were appointed as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court.
With 2,390 more recovered from viruses since Saturday, the total recovery reached 52,00,350 and active cases reached 34,902, the release said.
As many as 54,108 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the 14 districts, Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest with 1,507 new cases followed by Ernakulam 1,066 and Kozhikode 740.
From new cases, 49 were health workers, 72 from outside the country and 5,776 were infected through the source were not clear in 341, the release said.
At present there are 1,14,773 people under supervision in various districts, including 1,12,235 in the quarantine of a house or institutional and 2,538 in the hospital, the release said.
