ThiruvananThapuram: Chairman of Pinarayi Minister Vijayan wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who asked him to give permission to the semi-high railroad project proposed in the state called Silverline.
The chairman of the minister approached the Prime Minister after the Ashwini Vaishnaw Union Railway Minister expressed concern for project sanctions which quoted the current Indian financial position.
In his letter, the minister’s chairman said that the high-speed railroad project was included in the Mega infrastructure project under the National Railway Plan (NRP) in the previous Union budget.
He said that the construction of a railroad system is ready to future PAN-India will catalyze massive economic growth and increase the ease of life and not only benefit the state, but also the nation, which contributes to the economy and also the environment.
He added that based on the discussion with the center, the state has agreed to fulfill all land acquisition fees of RS 13,700 Crore and have agreed, on the principle, to fulfill the obligations arising from the default obligations of external debt carried out by Kerala Rail carried out by Kerala Rail Development Corporation Ltd (K-rail) for the project.
“Without land acquisition costs, the internal return rate of the project equity is 13.55% and therefore it is appropriate to the agreement between the Railway Ministry and the Government of Kerala,” he said.
The minister’s chairman also attaches the K-Rail report entitled ‘Impact of Silverline (Semi High Speed) from Thiruvananthapuram to the Use of the Indian railroad system and the steps to increase Railway India’s revenue together with his letter to the Prime Minister.

He asked the Prime Minister to intervene in this regard and approve project sanctions, quoting that it would be a milestone in the progress of Kerala.
When the minister’s Chairperson has met with the UNI train minister on October 22, he has said that more discussions and clarity are needed on funds for the project, where the participation of the train equity is Rs 2,150 Crore, apart from the RATA land of RS 975 Crore .
The minister’s chairman has met with the Union minister’s permission from the Railroad Council and also the Union Cabinet.
The DPR for this project is currently with the train ministry for approval.
