Thiruvananthapuram: The State Higher Education Department has issued a detailed guideline for the re-opening of full-scale higher education institutions, including professional universities, starting October 18.
Institutions have been instructed to conduct classes by accommodating all students in postgraduate classes.
For students level, institutions can group students into batches and do classes on alternative days or do daily classes if classrooms are quite available.
Universities can use their discretion in this matter.
Practical science classes will be permitted.
College authorities must ensure that classrooms, laboratories, libraries, toilets, and lounge are disinfected.

Guidelines say that colleges can conduct classes in one session, starting at 8:30 a.m.
to 1:30.
If this is not feasible, colleges can choose from 9am to 15:30 to 3:30 a.m.
or 10:00 to 4pm schedule.
The college council can receive calls at times.
College engineering can continue the schedule of six-class regular hours.
All teaching staff who do not teach must be reported on duty.
All student hostels must be open and the Jagratha Covid Committee, which involves teachers, students, parents, health, body representatives and local police must be formed for safe safe behavior.
Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers among students can be given into the classroom, provided they are vaccinated.
Students who are under the age of qualifying for vaccination or those who only receive one vaccine dose can also be permitted in the classroom.
If there are teachers or students who have not taken vaccines without valid reasons, they may not be allowed to enter the campus.
Students with all types of diseases and different students can attend classes only two weeks after the college is reopened.
