Thiruvananthapuram: To fight the campaign against the Silverline project, CPM has decided to launch a door-to-door campaign to clear concerns about the project.
Leaflets that detail the project have been prepared which will be distributed among households.
Leaflets say that there has been a non-holy Nexus between UDF, BJP and Jamaat-e-Islami to sabbot the development project in the state.
It calls for people to guard against Nexus and this rally behind the LDF government to create a vibrant Kerala.
The CPM pamphlet said that the LDF government had previously implemented several initiative-oriented initiatives to benefit the community and the government currently focused on increasing income.
For this, we need to develop the agricultural and industrial sectors.
Only through more investment, we can increase production capacity to produce more income for the country.
However, it is a fact that the state does not have sufficient infrastructure facilities, obstacles to invite more investment to the state.
In this background the LDF government previously strengthened the role of Kiifb in improving infrastructure facilities.
In the past five years, several projects worth 60,000 crore were initiated by Kiifb.
The Silverline project is one of the initiatives to improve infrastructure facilities.
The K-Rail project began in September 2016 when the country held a MoU with the Ministry of Union train.
The project feasibility study report was submitted to the Union Train Ministry and on December 17, 2019, the state accepted a nod to determine the possibility of investing in implementing the project.
The state government approved the DPR on June 17, 2020, and was handed over to the Union train Ministry.
This project is included between the central projects later.
In the 2021 Union budget, it was stated that the project would be completed in 2030.
However, now the center is not willing to provide financial assistance to this project and all project responsibilities have been carried out in the state government.
Therefore the state government decided to seek funds from various international banks.
But the center has limited state loan capacity to clamp the project.
UDF and BJP actively campaigned against this project by misleading people.
The fact is that this project only requires a line that has a width between 15m and 25m.
It’s less than half the ground needed for the six lane road.
The stretch of 115km passes through agricultural land, where 88km is elevated the highway.
To protect the river, riverbed, rice and wetlands, several highways, embroides, etc., have been planned.
Of the total 530km silverline, the 137km line passes the elevated pole and through the tunnel.
There will be no harm for the environment as propagated by opposition parties.
Silverline is not through an ecologically sensitive area.
All rice and wetlands will be protected and there is no damage to them.
Only 9,314 buildings must be evacuated for the project and they will be given compensation.
Only 1,383 hectares of land needed for the acquisition and rehabilitation of the people.
For land acquisition, RS 13,362.32 Crore will be needed.
The project itself has ensured compensation packages and rehabilitation.
The actual project costs are estimated to reach RS 63,941 Crore.
However, the opposition campaign is that it costs above RS 1lakh Crore, which is unfounded.
It is a fact that the state cannot advance without infrastructure projects where the state must take loans.
However, those who opposed the project ignored the fact that this project would increase our income through the tourism, technology and business sector.
The state financial situation will increase through this project, the CPM leaflet said.
