Idukki: Wing Safety Dam on Friday issued a blue warning for idukki dam when the water level reached 2,390.86ft.
The orange warning will be announced if the water level reaches 2,396.86ft followed by a red warning at 2,397,86ft.
The water level on Friday is 2,399ft against the full reservoir level (FRL) of 2,403,50ft.
KSEB Chief Engineer (Dam Safety and Drip) Supriya S said that the warning was issued in accordance with the guidelines for the Central Air Commission.
“The current water level is below 8 feet from the red alert Which is FRL, “he said.
“Because of lack of power in the central pond, it has been directed to increase power plants in the Hydel Dam.
With an increase in power plants, the surface of the water in a large hydel dam will decline in the coming days,” he added.
Supriya said that the rules curve will be changed after October 20 and the blue warning will be withdrawn later.
The next rule level will be higher than the current level.
Dam storage on Friday is 86.03% water in the reservoir, which is 2.392.52FT on the same day last year.
The power plant in the Moolamattam power plant on Thursday is 7,316MU.
Meanwhile, the average water level in the other large hydel dam reached almost 90% percent of the total storage on Friday.
The level of storage in the main hydel dam on Friday is – Idukki (86%), Pamba (86), Sholalayar (97), IDAMALAYAB (87), Kundala (91), Mattupetty (93), Thariyode (83)), anayirankal ( 76), PONMUDI (81), Neriamangalam (94), PeringalkutHu (43) and lower periry (98).
