Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala on Friday reported 44 Covid-19 Cases Omicron variants, taking the total case of 107.
These are the biggest one-day count so far in the state.
Health Minister Vena George said there was no spread of the community from a new variant that had been reported but very carefully needed to prevent it.
Positive testing and their contacts must follow all quarantine guidelines.
The case reported in this country includes 52 people from low-risk countries, 41 from high-risk countries and 14 which come into contact with these people.
The highest number of cases was reported among those from UAE (29) and England (23).
The minister said the genome sequencing would increase in samples from those who returned from low-risk countries because they were also positively tested for Omicron.
Only 2% of the sample was sent for the previous genome sequencing, and this has now been upgraded to 20%.
