Thiruvananthapuram: The Covid-19 case in Kerala continues to increase with the southern country that reported 51,570 new infections on Sundays took the total number of affected people to 59,83,515.
The country reported 14 deaths related to Coronavirus in the last 24 hours took the death toll to 53,666, the state health department said.
The state has tested 1,03,366 samples in the last 24 hours, release issued by the Ministry of Health.
On Saturday, Kerala reported 50,812 cases.
On January 25, Kerala has registered 55,475 cases, the highest single-day surge in the number of infections since the Pandemic outbreak in 2020.
Among the district, Ernakulam reported 9,704 cases, the highest in the state, followed by the Thrissur with 7,289 and Thiruvananthapuram with 5,746 cases .
“At present, there are 3,54,595 cases of Covid-19 active in only 3.4 percent in hospitals,” said the Ministry of Health in the release.
There were 5,27,362 people under supervision in the state 12,628 were in the isolation path of various hospitals throughout Kerala, he said.
From those who were found infected on Sunday, 177 reached the country from the interim of 47,778 contracted diseases from their contacts.
The source of the 3.178 infection has not been traced.
439 Health workers are also infected.
Among the latest fatalities, 87 were recorded over the past few days, while 374 was designated as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, 32,701 people restored from disease on Sunday took the total recovery in the state to 55.74,535.
