Thiruvananthapuram: The country witnessed 7,823 covid positive cases of 86,031 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the new cases detected, 6,789 people have taken vaccinations and 2,281 people tested positively on Tuesday have not taken a single dose.
However, 2,472 people among new cases have taken a vaccine dose.
At present, the total active case is 96,646, where 11% of people are accepted both in hospitals or other care centers.
Meanwhile, 106 recently confirmed deaths as caused by Covid, took the death toll relevant in the country to 26,448.
At the same time, 12,490 patients had recovered from infection.
Health Minister Veena George said that for two and a half crore people (2,50,11,209) in this country have now taken the first dose of vaccination.
This is 93.64% of the total population of the country.
The second dose of vaccination was taken by 44.5% of people (1,18,84,300).
Among new cases, 7,353 were infected through local spread.
Contact sources of infection cannot be traced to 382.
There are 53 health professionals among those infected and 35 people have arrived from outside the country.
Thrissur with 1,178 reported the highest number of cases, followed by Ernakulam (931), Thiruvananthapuram (902), Kozhikode (685), Kottayam (652), Kannur (628), Palakkad (592), alappuzha (425), alappuzha (425)) , Pathanamthitta (368), Malappuram (366), Idukki (285), Wayanad (227) and Kasaragod (93).
