Kochi: Kerala on Thursday recorded 12,288 Covid-19 fresh cases and 141 deaths, taking infections counted to 47,63,722 and fatality to 25,952.
The number of people who recovered from the disease since Wednesday was 15,808, which brought a total recovery to 46.18,408 and the active case to 1,18,744, the official press release said.
A total of 99,312 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, he said.
Among the 14 districts, Ernakulam recorded the highest number of cases with 1,839, followed by Thrissur (1,698), Thiruvananthapuram (1,435) and cozhikode (1,033).
The state has shown a decrease in new cases everyday after crossing the 30,000 Mark post-Onam festival in August.
From new cases, 69 are health workers, 51 from outside the country and 11,674 were infected through contact with the source unclear at 494.
At present there are 3.77.128 people under supervision in various districts, including 3,62,444 quarantine house or institutional and 14,684 in the hospital.
