Kochi: Kerala on Friday records 3,972 new Covid cases and 340 deaths, which took cooperatives to 51.75,204 and the toll road to 42,579.
Of the 340, 31 it was recorded over the past few days and 309 was designated as Covid-19 deaths after receiving an appeal based on the new central guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court, said the release of the state government.
With 4,836 more people recovered from the virus since Thursday, the total recovery reached 51.04,456 and the active case fell to 39,341, he said.
A total of 66,788 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, he said.
Among the 14 districts, Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest with 690 new cases, followed by Ernakulam (658) and Kozhikode (469).
From new cases, 26 are health workers, 10 from outside the country and 3,736 were infected through contact with the source unclear in 200.
There are currently 1,61,893 people under supervision in various districts, including 1.57,300 in the quarantine of the house or institutional and 4,593 in hospitals, the release said.
