Thiruvananthapuram: Minister Devaswom K Radhakrishnan told the Assembly on Wednesday that the government had no plan to remove the current virtual queue system for the Sabarimala pilgrimage until the threat submitted by Pandemic Covid-19.
“The virtual queue system was introduced to remember Emergency Covid-19.
All beliefs must be protected.
There is no doubt about it.
But we also need to take steps to keep the breath of life.
Virtual queues have been introduced to ensure pilgrims,” said Radhakrishana when a former leader Opposition Ramesh Chennithala searches for government opinions about the virtual queue of Sabarimala.
Replying to a discussion about the Devaswom recruitment bill at home, Radhakrishnan said pilgrims would understand why entering the Bukit Temple was limited to Covid-19 times.
He said the government did consider a proposal to introduce certain costs for registration of virtual queues but dropped the plan later.
“There is a large incompatibility in the number of people who register online for Darshan’s Sabianimala and those who visit the temple.
Suppose 10,000 people signed up for Darshan, only 3,000 took a trip.
It was to get rid of this false registration that the proposal to introduce costs is considered,” he said.
Radhakrishnan said the finance of the temple was in trouble, and the government had to pump RS 176 Crore for the cost of the temple during the covid emergency.
“Once the situation makes it easy, the government will definitely attract restrictions on the place for Darshan temple,” he said.
