Kolkata: Heritage City club is planning a low-key-key celebration and this new year although some will have relatively complicated arrangements than 2020.
However, compared to pre-covid celebrations, all clubs will give fewer guests on Christmas Eve and in the year New night.
The CEO of TollyGunge Club Anil Mukerji shows that the club will follow all Covid guidelines and the number of guests will be far less that pre-covid levels.
“This time, it will be a lower scale.
There will be a function but the occupancy will be limited to 70% of our capacity and the invitation must bring a double vaccination certificate,” he said.
Calcutta club secretary Rowing Chandan Roychowdhury shows that they will not regulate special functions this year.
“The number of guests for Christmas day lunch and December 31 dinner will be limited.
We will provide 50% residential,” he added.
According to him, there will be 700-800 guests during pre-covid time but will be far fewer this year.
RCGC will also hold Christmas and New Year’s dinner but with limited capacity.
“There will be a number of functions but all according to Covid norms,” Committee members said.
The Bengal Club President Ambaran Dasgupta also emphasized to maintain all Covid protocols.
“Most of our programs will be open air.
We have so far gained a good response from members,” he said.
A member of the Calcutta club committee said there would only be Christmas lunch and a new year party.
“There will be no special functions on Christmas Eve,” he added.
Secretary of the Joint Lake Club Subrata Guha said they did not hold Christmas lunch this year but it would arrange functions on December 24 and December 31.
However, it will not allow more than 700 people in pre-covid, they are used to host 2,000 people.
However, Princeton, however, planning gala celebrations keeps the Covid protocol.
Princeton (operation) manager Sanjay Karmakar shows that there will be a lightweight dinner on Christmas Eve with direct performances.
“There will be Christmas and carnival lunches specifically for children.
On New Year’s Eve, there will be a live band and dinner special,” he added.
