Kolkata: The government has placed a few steps in Posta, Koley Market and other crowded markets at the central business center to break the virus transmission chain and protect the locals, traders and customers.
The government has established a fast testing center in the market, starting randomized testing for Covid-19 among truck drivers and their helpers, prohibiting repeated trips for drivers who are not vaccinated and regulate vaccination of traders, laborers and drivers.
On Thursday, the Chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee, while overcoming his officials, had instructed to be close to Posta and other crowded markets and check whether the driver of the truck and their helper was vaccinated.
The police have also arranged a fence on the market and installed an examination post so that people practice pauses and social vehicles parked at distance from each other.
“We have distributed masks and sanitisers every day and told the driver, helper, and workers not to crowd but the room came out of their seat settings.
The police also announced about safety guidelines.
All traders in Posta have been fully vaccinated,” Chandan Chakraborty said President of the Traders Association in Posta.
The kiosk has been arranged on the market for fast testing of those who come from outside.
“If someone feels positive, we advise them to isolate themselves and consult with doctors in local health centers,” said Vivek Gupta, MLA from Jorasananko where Posta was located.
Some thousand trucks arrive at Posta and Coley Market every day, most of which come from neighboring countries.
Although there are restrictions by the government, the crowd only swells in the wholesale market and society with many people say safety guidelines.
“We checked the status of vaccinations of drivers and their helpers.
Those who disagree to get vaccinations are not permitted repeatedly by the market committee,” said a Kolkata police central division officer.
