Kolkata: The Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) will do the work of a large drainage network reshuffle between Hudco and Science City along the EM bypass.
This project includes setting up a new drainage pipe to remove stormwater from road service and clean the drainage network pipes.
The authorities on Tuesday initiated the process to involve agents for RS 2.4-Crore work.
This project is intended to solve water problems along the service road to West bypass.
The last monsoon, all stretches have experienced heavy waterlogging.
The drainage line will be placed along this stretch along with manhole and gullypit to drain storm water.
The authorities have also planned to do the work and cleansing of existing manhole and gullypits and stormwater pipes from Em Bypass’s main stretching and road service, including pumping out of water from both sides of the Breads Hudco from the intersection of the intersection of the Science City.
This will cost around 75.8 lakh.
Officials said that the plan was to finish work before the following season.
Apart from the drainage line revamp, the authorities will also paint the sidewalk, the median fence and sidewalk fence.
The damaged fence will be repaired or replaced.
