Kolkata: Police tighten the vigil mask on Behala, Jadavpur

Kolkata: Police have identified several markets in additional areas – especially in Boroughs 10, 11, 14 and 16 – where the police will increase the alertness of the mask after a slight increase in the number of Covid from this area in the past four weeks.
Located on the side of Jadavpur-Baghajatin at one end and Behala-Joka on the other hand, these areas are also located near 24 parganas where the bag has witnessed a high number of cases to date and has also been included in the detention zone list.
“We have focused on all places that have a high public interface.

Kolkata police said it had increased awareness campaign along with KMC.

At present, the police say no less than 16 markets, including Behala, Simulta, Behala Chowrasta, Thakurpur, Haridevpur, Jadavpur, Bansdroni, Garia, Baghajatin, Bijoyh, Sree Colony and Pallisree, are on the watchlist.
“We have found that people refuse to follow basic Covid norms after once vaccinated.
Maybe the biggest offenders are those who visit the market every morning,” said an officer.
Market sellers in this ward have been asked to enforce their own mask discipline.
The police have increased the anti-mask drive to sentence nearly 2,000 people since Saturday.
Police have launched sudden checks around these markets and robbed public places such as lakes and parks to demand offenders.
Even when the KMC indicates that it will increase vaccination in these pockets, the police will fulfill RWA who advises them to maintain all Covid protocols and do not remove the guard during the celebration season.
Borough 10 has reported 475 new cases in the last four weeks.
