Pune: Korea clinically dominated the process to defeat the Philippines 2-0 in the semi-finals to advance to the Pandan they AFC Asian Cup Asian Class Clash on Thursday.
Cho So-Hyun and Son Hwa-yeon scored the first half goal for Korea to end the brilliant running of the Philippines which made their first semifinal appearance at the Continental Showpiece in the Shiv Chhatrapati sports complex.
Korea faced the second semi-final winner between Japanese holders and former Chinese champions in the final on Sunday.
The Philippines can be proud of their efforts because they gave their match all and can look forward to their first appearance at the FIFA 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
All Asian Cup semifinalists are directly eligible for the World Cup.
Korea, who has defeated a favorite of the Australian pre-tournament in the quarter-finals, did not waste time in applying the pressure from the get-go and opened the score in the fourth minute when Cho went in the corner Kim Hye-ri kicked the Philippine goalkeeper McDaniel.
Want to impress in their first semi-final appearance, the Philippines was not affected by initial setbacks and Sofia Harrison’s efforts from a distance of six minutes later showing that they meant business.

Filipino head coach Alen Stanjcic was sent to Malea Louise Cesar, Chandler McDaniel and Sara Castaededa at the start of the second half but the changes had a little effect because Kim Jung-Mi’s Korean goalkeeper was almost not tested.
It was more difficult for Korea to find opportunities in the second half when the Philippines save their defense compact, but they almost found a goal in the 67th minute when the son got at the end of a series of trajectories just to shoot directly to McDaniels.
