Mangaluru: Dr.
Krishna Mohan Prabhu, a famous Moodbidri-based surgeon who wore many hats as researchers, naturalists, cyber techie and photographers, died at AJ Hospital here on Tuesday.
He survived by his wife, daughter, mother, mother and three siblings.
The doctor was hospitalized on December 8 and then was diagnosed with acute mieloid leukemia.
According to hospital sources, he has been given two rounds of chemotherapy but treatment cannot be continued because his body cannot take care.
He had been in the ICU for the past two weeks he was the CEO and founder at Prabhu General Hospital in Moodbidri.
He was actively involved in various fields.
He climbed, went to the mountain, entered the conservation of wildlife, photography, classical music, gadgets, computers and the internet.
He was a member of the team from the 1990 expedition to Brahma I to increase 21,050 feet in Western Himalaya.
During this climb, he had spent all two weeks alone in one of the expedition camps.
He is an encyclopedia running on various scientific topics that cover wildlife, biology, medicine and astronomy.
Lately, he was interested in Arachnology and collaborated with the international team for research on spiders.
This resulted in several significant discoveries in spider behavior, species and diversity levels in various parts of India.
Some of these inventions have been published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals.
He has served the world’s extensive funds for Nature (WWF) in 1989-92 and conducted countless natural camps for young fans in Mudumalai, Bandipur, Nagarhole and Bhadra Wildlife Succuaries.
He is a wildlife member first.
In a unique forest conservation project, he along with Ashoka Vardhana from Arohana, together to buy a 15-hectare plot at Forest Reserve at Bisle Ghats.
