MySuru: The week after the State Open University of Karnataka (KSOU) issued a circular convocation certificate to issue all students who fulfill the requirements that register through the Collaborative Institute on or before 2012-13, university authorities resigned.
This follows the direction of UGC.
VC Vidyashankar S confirmed to TOI that the round was withdrawn after the direction of UGC.
“The Governor-Chancellor has also issued an order in this matter.
I will write a letter to the UGC in this matter,” VC said.
Vidyashankar said the exact number of students who have not received a meeting certificate are unknown.
The University in April has issued circular which states that all undergraduate students, postgraduate, diploma (non-technical) are registered through a collaborative Institute on or before 2012-132 eligible to receive a convocation certificate.
They are directed at registering through the Collaborative Institute and if the institution does not work, they have been given options to implement directly at the university.
The source claims so far only a number of students registered through collaborative institutes outside Karnataka are advanced looking for certificates.
KS Shivaramu, a former member of the Management Board, Ksou, claims to follow its appeal to the UGC and Chancellor against KSOU’s decision to issue a convocation certificate to students from outside Karnataka registered through a collaborative process, UGC has directed to stop the process.
According to him, thousands of students were issued certificates on the Norms of UGC and KSOU guidelines.
