Putture: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) Putti Division staff and retired employees start unlimited hunger strikes they protest the delay in payment of salaries and retirement benefits on Monday.
Employees led by KSRTC Mazdoor Sangha have held Dharna near Amar JAWAN Jyoti Memorial Memorial in Kille in Putture protesting the delay in payment of salaries and retirement to them, since October 21.
Sangha spokesman Shantharama Vitla will warn that unlimited strikes will begin if the demands of employees are not fulfilled before Monday.
KSRTC Mazdoor Sangha Patturi Division President Madavu Vishwanath Rai said: “I am 76 years old now and has started a hunger strike.
The KSRTC official will be directly responsible if something happens to me.” Sangha spokesman Shantharam Vitla said employees only demanded their legitimate rights and nothing to do with KSRTC.
“Even though we were given a full salary slip for August, we paid only half of the salary,” he added.
Puture Mla Sanjeeva Matandoor has met with employees who protested and retired employees on Saturday and convince them that their demands will be fulfilled.
