Bengaluru: More than 27.8 Doses of Lakh, the highest in this country, managed in Karnataka until 9:30 a.m.
on Friday, which amounted to 88% of the 31 target states set for special Covid-19 vaccination drives.
With data still in, officials hope to be closer to their target.
In the process, the overall vaccination coverage of the country crosses a sign of a 5-crore dose.
During a special drive, the dosage was given at 12,063 centers in all states, where 11,648 was the center managed by the government and other personal facilities.
The previous single-dose record was given on September 1, when health professionals were inoculated almost 12.5 people under the ‘special Wednesday vaccination drive’ in the country.
In terms of most doses, coverage of BBMP with 4 doses of lakh is given within its limits at 9:30 a.m.
Bengaluru City aims to manage 5 doses of lakh.
The BBMP authority said Bengaluru was in the top position in terms of doses for the day among all districts in the country on Friday.
After Bengaluru, the Batalagavi was second, giving a dose of almost 2.4 lakh, followed by 1.3 lakh jab in Dakshina Kannada.
Each district is given a target based on a population that meets the requirements and the state distributes 34 doses of lakh vaccines among all districts.
Drive also focuses on the second dose coverage.
Eleven districts including Bengaluru Urban, Shivamogga, Ramanagara, Dharwad, Hassan, Davanagere, Chikkamagaluru and Haveri, exceeded their target.
Bengaluru urban, who has a 50,000-dose target, reaches 132% and occupies the highlight of the country.
However, low coverage in Kalaburagi with a district meeting is only 37% of its target.
Data from the State Health Department and family welfare showed that the total vaccination reached 13 lakh at 2:30 a.m., but then the drive was quickly accelerated.
One hour later, the total number of doses managed reached 15.4 lakh, while coverage touched 18 lakh at 4:30 p.m.
During the following hours, at 5:30 a.m., the daily vaccination coverage had crossed a milestone of 20 lakh (65% of the target).
At 6:30 a.m., the number has risen to 23 doses of lakh.
During the launch of the Lasika drive on Friday and a blood donor at Bowring Hospital and Lady Curzon in Bengaluru, Minister of Health and Medical Education K Sudhakar said that it was a meaningful way to mark the anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The population of the poor and oppressed on the priority against Covid is the purpose of a special drive, he said.
As on Thursday (September 16), the state has been inoculating 73% of the population which qualifies as a whole with at least one dose, while the second dose coverage reaches 23%.
Special Friday drives are not only intended to increase coverage by focusing on 27% of populations that are not vaccinated, but also completely inoculate those who are due to their second dose.
Dr.
Arundhathi Chandrashekar, director of the mission, the National Health Mission, Karnataka, told TI that many micro planning was carried out in the district for the past five days ahead of a special drive.
“Dosage supply, planning and coordination that adequately plays a major role, in addition to awareness activities related to covid vaccination,” he said.
With that, a total of 87 doses of lakh have been given so far in September only.
“We are sure to cross the 1.5 crore target, the target we specified for ourselves in September,” said Sudhakar.
