Greater Noida: A total of 32 families from three villages in the valuation have decided to send legal notice to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, saying that they have been rejected by the benefits of rehabilitation.
Apart from 1,334 hectares obtained for the first phase of Noida airport, 16 other hectares were taken by the authorities in three villages -kureb, Nagla Jahanu and Nagla Phoolkan.
This land is needed to build a second runway.
As many as 48 families in three villages were found on the project.
From them, 32 families have built a permanent structure or home on their land.
The villagers accused them of being promised the same benefits offered to farmers who gave their land for the first phase of the airport.
“They said we would get the same benefit.
For agricultural land, we paid Rs 2,300 per SQMT.
32 families who have to be moved are promised by each of Rs 5.5 lakh.
But there are no benefits of rehabilitation offered to us,” said Manzur Khan from Nagla Jahanu.
The villagers used protests on Thursday, when a team of officials from Yeida, administration and district police began to move some of the houses in Nagla Jahanu to clean the ground and hand them over to the concession holder.
In the face of demonstrations by villagers, officials must defeat a hasty retreat.
The Chief Executive Yeida Arun VIR Singh said, “I will find out about the land whether the problem is.” A mainland official said, “Those who have been forced to move after releasing their agricultural fields and ancestral houses have been offered rehabilitation benefits,” an official said.
