STOCKHOLM: Efforts to defuse a crisis which has left Sweden’s centre-left minority government confronting probably defeat at a no-confidence vote will continue during the weekend,” Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson stated on Friday.
Parliament is scheduled to maintain a no-confidence vote Monday following the Left Party withdrew its support on Thursday to its government over plans to facilitate rent hands on new-build home.
Even the anti-immigration Sweden Democrats immediately filed a no-confidence movement, which appears likely to win enough help to bring down the government, leaving Prime Minister Stefan Lofven weighing resignation and also even a snap election.
However, the government is still attempting to fend off the emergency, Andersson stated.
“Obviously we’re taking a look at all the options within this critical situation, thus we’ll obviously be functioning ahead of Monday,” she informed the public broadcaster SVT.
“If there’s a no-confidence vote Monday, we’ll work then also.
