Coimbatore: CB-CID recently restored the country-made gun used by Sri Lanka Donworld Don Angoda Lokka from an isolated place near the Border of the Madurai District -Sivaganga.
Lokka died of a heart attack in Coimbatore in July 2020.
“We learned that the gun, along with five live rounds, was buried in a place by lawyers based in Madurai D Sivakamai Sundari.
His father was an intersection of LTTE sympathizers,” said a CB-CID officer in the meantime , a CB-Cid official said there was Nexus between the former Operative LTTE Satkunam aka Sabesan, 47, and Lokka.
The National Investigation Agency (Nia) arrested Sabesan last October due to his involvement in drug smuggling and weapons from Pakistan.
Then, CB-CB coimbatore officials took him under detention, along with Chinna Suresh, 35, a Underworld of Don in Sri Lanka, and Sounderrajan, 25, from Chennai, to hide Lokka and his magic Chanuka Thaniyake aka Ladiya.P Sivakumar, Deputy Supervisors Police, CB-CID, Coimbatore, and his team arrested Ladiya, native Athurugiriya in Sri Lanka, and T Gopalakrishnan, 46, from Bengaluru, last November.
Gopalakrishnan was assisted by Lokka and Ladiya in the hawala crime against rival gangs and drug smuggling.
Lokka and Ladiya, who also have drug smuggling, moved to India next.
All four came into contact with each other in India and they smuggled heroin to Sri Lanka from various countries, the official said.
“After Lokka’s death in July 2020, Ladiya took over the drug smuggling business,” the official added.
