Rajkot: A two and a half year old girl was persecuted to death by leopards when she was sleeping outside her home in Bhavnagar District Bhavariya Village on Sunday.
Palitana officials Wildlife Range suspects that leopards may be attracted by goats that are moored near a house or family may have consumed non-vegetarian food at night and removing Lefover nearby.
The victim was identified as the power of Madhasukhiya, whose father Arvind worked as a farm laborer.
“Leopard attacked around 4am and dragged the girl before the family could come to save him.
It eats around 70-80% of the body.
The victim can only be identified by his clothes.
Four cages have been arranged in this area to catch wild cats,” said Arpit Bhariya , Range Forest Officer of Palitana.
