Vadodara: A leopard entered a house in the Ladpur village of Godhra taluka in Panchmahal district leading to panic there.
The big cat had to be tranqualised on Tuesday afternoon to rescue it.
The leopard had entered a house that was being used to keep cattle and other material in the village.
The owners of the house stayed nearby.
When they heard a sound, they did not know which animal han entered the house till the leopard roared.
Hearing the sound, the villagers informed the police as well as forest officials.
The officials and villagers closed all doors of the house in which the leopard had entered.
Later, only one door was opened and a cage was kept there to ensure that the leopard was trapped.
The leopard did not enter the trap and eventually it was decided to tranqualise it with darts.
Two darts were ineffective, as it did not release the sedative in the leopard and it was only the third attempt that was successful.
The leopard was kept in the cage almost six hours after it was spotted.
It was taken to the Dhobikuva rescue centre near Pavagadh.
