Kalyan: A leopard was found with his head stuck in a plastic jar.
It was saved by the Forestry Department and a team of animal lovers after search operations that lasted around 48 hours on Tuesday night.
The boy was found in Goregaon Village, Badlapur in the Thane District.
The team, after saving the Cub Leopard, managed to remove the jar from his head.
The animal was dehydrated and hungry from lack of food or water for 48 hours.
The rescue team gave them.
Forest officials informed that the rescue team would send wild cats to Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
Cub will be examined medically by the veterinarian.
After the medical results are determined, the animal will be released into the forest.
Forest officers said that they were fortunate to have been able to trace leopards with the help of local villagers and save him on time, or his child could be in danger.
According to officials, the leopard is two years old.
They believe that leopards may come from hills in Karjat or Matheran.
Officials suspect that the animal might get his head caught up in a plastic jar while trying to drink water from him.
It was first seen on Saturday night by locals who recorded videos where the leopard was seen struggling to remove his head from the jar.
