Surat: After two class XI students were found positive for Covid-19 on Monday during testing by the Municipal Corporation (SMC) Health Team, L P Savani in Adjan was ordered to close for a week.
The Ministry of Health team is conducting testing in city schools to identify alleged cases.
About 500 students currently attend school.
Those who were found positively advised to remain quarantined at home.
“Students are found positively during random checks.
The school has been ordered to remain closed for seven days,” said a health official.
Meanwhile, SMC conducted testing in a residential tower and the community to identify positive cases before infection spread.
Recently, four multi-floor apartments were declared a detention cluster after several cases of Coronavirus were found there.
