Vadodara: Residents of 24-year-old Methhi Village in Karjan, Bharmal Vasilva, were punished on Thursday by the additional session court to rape and kill a woman in Karjan in 2018 and sentenced to life imprisonment.
The court sentenced the convict for hard punishment other than Rs 10,000 penalty.
If he failed to deposit a penalty, his sentence would be extended six months.
He has also been punished for seven years because it caused the loss of the proof and penalty of Rs 5,000.
All sentences will run parally.
According to the details of the case, the 40-year-old victim was lost on November 8, 2018 after he left to graze his goat in the afternoon.
At night, the goat returned home but the woman did not return.
After this, her husband was accompanied by locals searching when his body was found on the outskirts of Methi Village on November 9.
The police then submitted a rape and murder case at the Karjan police station and the investigation took them to Vasava who worked as a relaxed worker.
The police said that Vasava attacked the woman in an isolated place and first strangled her to lose her consciousness.
The defendant then dragged the victim to the nearest field and raped him.
After acting, the defendant then picked him up and took him to another place next to the local villagers, Raju Patel, where he ran again.
This time he banged on the woman with a stone on the head and the face killed her instantly.
Accused of then choosing the body and throwing it in an isolated place nearby.
He covered his body with the sari he was wearing.
Seeing the crime crime savagery, the court punished him to serve a life sentence.
