Chandigarh: The police used the water cannon to disperse AAM AAM AADMI (AAP) who tried to surround the Governor Punjab house here on Wednesday for the violence of Lakhimpur Kheres at Uttar Pradesh.
The police have installed a barricade near MLA Hostel here to stop the protesters going towards Punjab Raj Bhavan.
When AAP workers, led by the Mla Saravjit Kaur Manuke party, tried to solve the barricade and marched towards the governor’s residence, police Chandigarh used water cannons to disperse them.
Meanwhile, a group of other AAP protesters and party punjab affairs, Jarnail Singh was detained near UT Guest House.
They sat on the road and raised the slogan against the BJP-led government in the middle.
The police were forcibly deleted them from the protest site and took it to the nearest police station.
Singh demanded the arrest of all the people behind the killing of farmers.
Four of the eight people who died in the violence on Sunday at Lakhimpur Kheri were farmers, who allegedly knocked down vehicles driven by BJP workers who traveled to welcome Deputy Minister of Chief Keshav Prasad Maurya to an event in the area.
The other four included two BJP workers, a driver of the Minister of State for Ajay Kumar Mishra’s house, and a journalist.
While the first three allegedly punished by a nervous farmer, the clerk, according to his father, died after being hit by a vehicle when he covered the news about the farmer’s protest against Maurya’s visit to Ajay Mishra’s place.
The top police have submitted a case against the son of Ajay Mishra but no arrest has been made so far.
