Lucknow: When the case of dengue fever continues to increase in the state capital, the increasing number of patients who reported blood platelet and hemorrhagic fever, resulted in a surge in platelet demand by 75% over the past week.
“Regularly, we provide up to 80 platelet units a day, but now we are processing up to 140,” said Prof.

Aliganj-based private blood bank manager Satish Bhasin said that they did not save platelets due to short life.
“We provide platelets for each patient only after processing from donor blood.
