Vadodara: The local court on Thursday assumed the guarantee to Kanji Mokariya who was arrested by Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) in September.
Mokariya, Director of Courier Nandan, was ordered by the police to help rape accuse Raju Bhatt in escaping from the city.
His name has appeared during the investigation when the police sought Bhatt arrested later.
“We argued at the court that Mokariya was not accused of violating rape or downsizing.
He was accused of allegedly helping to accuse to escape and it was a falsified violation.
The court gave him a guarantee on Thursday,” said Advocate Kaushik Bhatt.
The police had previously said that Mokariya had taken Bhatt to Ranoli Highway because of ‘settled’ rape problems through several other colleagues.
From there, Mokariya allegedly dropped Bhatt at Ahmedabad in his own car.
Senior police officers said that Mokariya knew the girl since last year.
