La Palma, Spain: More than three thousand residents of La Palma were told on Tuesday they could leave their homes after the authority ended the locker caused by thick clouds of the volcano that had destroyed the Island of Canary Spain.
The red-hot lava flow that radiates from Cumbre Vieja volcano swallowed a cement plant on Monday, raising the cloud of smoke and pushing the authority to order people in the area to stay at home.
Emergency services instructed residents in the cities of El Paso and Los Llanos de Aridane to stay in the room, close their windows and turn off the air conditioning unit to avoid breathing toxic smoke from burning cement plants because it gradually swallowed by lava.
On Tuesday, the authorities said the cloud of smoke had passed and the air quality increased so that 3,500 residents could leave their homes.
There were 18 seismic movements on Tuesday, the strongest measuring 3.8, according to the Spanish National Geology Institute.
Lava from the eruption that began on September 19 has put waste into a total area of nearly 600 hectares, said Miguel Angel Morcuende, the technical director of the Canary Islands volcanic emergency plan.
After the cone of the volcano partially collapsed on Saturday, the new River Lava flowed into the sea, devouring bananas and avocado plantations and most of the remaining houses in the city of Todoque.
Torrents from Molten Rock have destroyed 1,186 buildings in three weeks since the eruption, said the Canary Volcanic Institute Islands.
About 6,000 people have been evacuated from their homes in La Palma, which has around 83,000 residents.
