London Cleaning After Flash Flooding Drenches Homes, Subway

LONDON: London is cleaning Monday after heavy rains leaving home, road, and several subway stations flooded, a second in a few weeks.
The weather body Met Office said 41.6 centimeters (16 inches) rain fell in Central London on Sunday afternoon.
Monday is drier, but environmental agents say four flood warnings remain valid for Southeast England.
Two London hospitals asked patients not to come to the emergency department because of the disturbance from the flood.
Transportation for London said the eight stations were closed due to flooding, including Mill Lane’s pudding, the station on the ground where video recordings showed water soaring through concourse and upstairs.
Residents use buckets, brooms and wooden boards to make emergency flood defenses for their homes because of overloaded storm channels in several parts of the city.
“Has been born and raised in London, I have never seen anything very like,” said Resident London South Eddie Elliott.
“It stands out as the worst I’ve ever experienced personally …

Earlier this month the storm wave caused a large flood damage and left more than 200 people killed in Germany and Belgium.
