New Delhi: Monsun Long this year is likely to remain active until early October, with the department to meet on Thursday that the withdrawal of the Rainbearing system is not expected to begin at least in the next 10 days.
The normal date for the start of the Monsoon retreat (starting from Rajasthan Barat) was September 17 and the rainy season ended on September 30 in the classification of the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD).
This year’s monsone withdrawal will likely be postponed by more than two weeks.
“We expect two low-pressure systems that come back to the interior of Bengal Bay.
One of them will begin to have an impact on Odisha from September 26, and others will follow two-three days later,” said Head of IMD Mrutyunjay Mohapatra.
Both systems will bring more rain to Central India and side by side in the East and northwest, delay the rainy season retreat from the country, according to the expanded Estimated IMD range on Thursday.
If these two low pressure circulation hit the land as an estimate, September will have five such systems, the highest for every month this season.
July has four low pressure systems carrying rain from Bay Bay, while the count in June and August each two.
“Monsun withdrawals are not possible for the next 10 days, until around October 3.
We did not comment on the period outside of 10 days because the accuracy was reduced,” said Mohapatra.
