Vadodara: The 29-year-old sperm who fought against the battle against Coronavirus has been collected and preserved in a city-based hospital after the Gujarat High Court order (HC).
The wife of a patient who underwent a life support system, had moved HC on Monday night begging that her husband’s sperm was preserved so she could get pregnant through IVF if her husband did not recover from Covid-19.
The new RAB must move to court because the pending reproductive technology bill stipulates that there is no human sperm that can be obtained without his consent.
Hospital management insist on court orders in the absence of agreement.
After hearing the request, HC on Tuesday has directed a sterling hospital based in Vadodara to preserve the sperm sought by his wife.
The hospital initially refused his request because the patient was not in a condition to give approval.
He is unconscious and life support after suffering from organ failure.
“We received a court order at around 5:10 a.m.

“We are happy that this procedure has succeeded.
Now, family priorities and doctors are patient survival.
Extracted sperm can be preserved for a long time,” he said.

The lawyer asked the court to hear this case immediately and justice Ashutosh Shastri has agreed.
The patient was received on May 10 and the doctors had submitted to the family that he might not survive.
However, the court does not have permission to continue with artificial insemination until further orders.
The court tended to hear this case again on Thursday.
