Vadodara: A 24-year-old man and his paramour ended his life by jumping into the Mahi River in the outskirts of the city earlier on Tuesday morning.
Local residents fished their bodies and notified the police.
The police said the 22-year-old Sohail Rana and Alisha Rana were residents of Napa Village in Anand.
The two of them are in a relationship but cannot marry each other.
Sohail married another girl while Alisha also married another man.
But the duo is related and loving each other.
Investigators said Sohail and Alisha fled their villages early on Tuesday morning and reached the bridge on the Mahi River near Sindhrot.
The duo then jumps on the river that flows at a high level due to rain.
On July 16, the couple had insisted on the tree in Savli Taluka.
Harish Chavda and Seema Chavda fell in love but their families rejected their relationship because they came from the same caste.
When Seema got engaged to another man, the Duo decided to end their lives.
