Lucknow: Violating the 110-year-old tradition, a collection of fresh MBBS students at the Medical University of Raja George (KGMU) took Maharishi Charak Shastra instead of hippocrat oath on the first day of the 2021-22 academic session which began on Monday with an induction ceremony.
Not only in KgMu, medical students who have just been accepted in all medical education institutions, both the government and the private sector, took Charak Shastras in each induction ceremony.
The oath is in Hindi, not English.
In Kgmu, Deputy Chancellor Lt Gen (RET) Prof.
Bipin Puri also serves apron to 250 MBBS and 70 BDS students who have received tickets in this session.
Oath decision about NMC recommendations.
The decision to replace the hypocratic oath with Charak Shaphath was taken on the recommendations of the National Medical Commission (NMC) for all Indian medicine education.
NMC arranges curriculum and medical education in this country.
NMC replaced the Indian Medical Council (MCI) in September 2020.
According to KGU officers, NMC gave suggestions to replace the oath on February 7 and upload “Maharishi Charak Shastras” on its website.
Hypocratic oath like this, “I swear by Apollo and Asclepius and Hygieia and Hygieia and all gods and goddesses, making them my witnesses, that I will be full of my abilities and this agreement …
I will apply the diet steps for The interests of the sick people in accordance with my abilities and judgment; I will guard them from danger and injustice …
“Maharishi Charak Shastras was originally in Sanskrit and was taken from Charak Samhita written by Maharishi Charak who was believed to be one of Ayurveda’s main contributors.
NMC gets an oath translated in Hindi and English as well and uploaded on its website.
In English, he said, “Not for himself, not to fulfill the wishes or acquisition of worldly material, but solely for goodness to suffer humanity, I will treat my patients and superior all.”
