Nagpur: ‘Paera’, Marathi film produced by city theater activists and filmmakers Sanjay Jiwane, will be screened on the first day of the 74th Cannes Film Festival, which made a comeback in physical format for the first time since the Covid outbreak -19.
This film is one of the official choices for the ‘March Du Film’ Cannes section, where filmmakers and investors gather on one platform.
This year, more than 10,000 entries are received from 130 countries for this section.
According to the official Cannes website, 1,500 of them have been selected for discraning.
“We accept official correspondence today.
Our film will be screened on July 6, the first day of the festival.
It is a great honor for the film made in Nagpur,” Jiwane said.
The team was invited to France, but it was impossible for them to visit because of travel prohibitions.
This film is an adoption on the screen from the Marathi game with the same name written by Jiwane.
