Madurai: Madurai District with ten assembly constitution has 27.13,033 voters with 42,074 new voters added to the list and 10,768 removed due to death, address changes and housing duplication.
This effectively made an increase in voters this year as 31,306.
This was revealed in the final selection roll released by the district collector s aneesh sekhar.
All southern districts have more female voters than men, according to roll released by each collector.
Madurai has 26,81,727 voters on January 1 last year.
Addition and removal are carried out on the election list until November 30.
Among the ten assembly constituencies, Madurai East has the highest number of voters with 3.31.829 and Sholavandan at least with 2,19,194.
This district has 1,163 voting stations and 2,718 polling booths.
Dindigul District with 18.94,857 voters came second among the southern district in terms of voter populations with 9,21,425 voters and 9,73,228 women’s voters in seven assembly segments.
According to the Virudhunagar voter list released by the J Meganatha Reddy collector, this district has 16,89,535 voters – 8,67,952 women and 8.2187 men.
It adds 23,130 new voters while 558 removed.
The industrial city of Sivakasi has 2,64,132 voters, the highest among the seven elections in this district.
Sivaganga has 11,96,802 voters, 5,86,584 men and 6.10.168 women, Ramanathapuram 11,72,051 voters, 5,82,017 men and 5.89,966 voters.
Tuticorin has 14,99,577 voters, 7,67,622 women and 7.31,785 men in six assembly segments.
Kanyakumari has a total of 15,92,555 voters in six segments with 7,92,410 men and 7,99,950 women’s voters.
