Madurai: Health officials in Madurai did not leave stone missed to increase the coverage of 100% Covid-19 vaccination with at least one dose, and hoped for a better response to vaccinating more than one lakh recipient during the Mega’s sixth vaccination set to be held across the country on the day Saturday.
In the Madurai district, as many as 18.61,964 beneficiaries have taken at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine on Wednesday.
Five wards have reached 100% coverage with at least one dose.
Corporate health officials said the door-to-door vaccination in a targeted way was being carried out to ensure 100% coverage in a locality.
“On several other wards, around 95-98% Covid-19 vaccination was reached.
In all primary health centers in the city, health workers have been asked to take each neighborhood for the door coverage to the door,” said a health official.
Meanwhile, 1,500 camps have been planned to drive mega covid-19 vaccination on Saturday.
“We repeatedly tried to emphasize that the death and need of Covid-19 for ICU beds drastically only reduced due to vaccination.
The public must issue an unnecessary and advanced fear for their benefits and their families,” said an official.
In the southern district, health officials are preparing mega vaccination drives on Saturdays and efforts to increase awareness.
