Letter: The five families of Silvassa including four women have magic runaway when their car was swept away in canal water and remained trapped under the bridge for almost two hours on Tuesday at Kadodara from the district of the letter.

Those who were saved include Azim Khan (50), Sumaiya (42), Swetha (21), Aaliya (21) and Fahima (18), all Silvassa residents in the Diu-Daman-Dadra Union and Nagar Haveli who said they returned home from Ankleshwar.
Khan said he was driving a car on the street service near the Kadodara Tua Chowki police when the accident took place.

“Initially the police and several locals tried to get into the water but because of the flow of water were heavy and we did not have special equipment with us, we could not do much,” said a GRD Jawan.
“The family relatives of Silvassa also reached a point in the middle of rescue operations and based on the calculation we can estimate that the family must remain trapped under the bridge in the middle of the water struggling for almost two hours,” added the SFES officers.
