Nashik: More than 5,000 police officers and housekeepers will be on the streets and highways in the district on Monday to ensure no unwanted incidents during the bandh called by Maha Vikas Aghadi to protest the incidence of Lakhimur Kheri.
Police Commissioner Deepak Pandey said all police personnel would be on the toes throughout the day.
Senior officials from all police stations have been told to maintain strict alertness and spread their maximum number of staff in the field.
The city police Nashik has a power of around 3,200 personnel.
Senior officials say the maximum personnel from this style will be deployed in the area, which is chosen for protests.
Meanwhile, the police supervisor (Nashik Rural) Sachin Patil said the bandobast would be increased in important places where the chances of protesting more demonstrations.
The police will maintain a special vigil on the highway that passes through the district.
He said regardless of regular strength, rural police had 800 house guards and a state-reserve police force company (SRPF).
