Mumbai: The effect of Monday is seen once more with the country that registered the lowest daily tally (518) since April 26, 2020, when 440 cases of Covid-19 were detected.
In Mumbai, cases were dipped below 200 again because 163 cases were detected.
The state reported five deaths, the lowest since April 1, 2020, when three deaths were recorded.
Of the five deaths in the state, two came from Mumbai.
The total cake covid-19 Maharashtra was almost 66.4 lakh and the total death toll was 1.4 lakh.
Active cases continue to report a decline in both the state and city.
The state has 6,853 patients undergoing treatment, including 1,714 from Mumbai.
Most patients undergo treatment are in the quarantine of the house, the official said.
“We have low calculations now, but two cases of omicrons are detected in the city,” said the additional Commissioner BMC Suresh Kakani, added that there was an urgent need to observe the appropriate behavior of Covid.
Dr.
Shashank Joshi from the Covid State Task Force said people should not panic but follow the covid core control protocol from wearing a mask and maintaining physical distance.
