Pune: Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Mahametro) has begun to assemble the first aluminum Rake Metro, with three coaches, who recently arrived in the city.
Safety trials will be held on track after Rake is assembled.
Mahametro officials stated that the technical team had been deployed for assembly work and conducted an examination on various parameters.
This process will continue for several days.
Rake has been stored in the Venaz Depot for inspection and trials.
As many as three rakes will be available in the first phase, said an Mahametro official, adding that this is a light train and will save energy and need more care.
“We expect two more rakes soon.
The new Rakes must undergo various examinations.
We aim to complete the earliest process.
Inspection takes time because it involves a detailed analysis of various parameters,” said the official from Mahametro.
The aluminum rake single can accommodate 970 passengers, while around 320 can travel in one coach.
Rake can run at a maximum speed of 90 km per hour.
Mahametro has booked with the Titagarh Firema company to supply 34 rakes.
Rakaru for the initial phase is being produced in Italy.
The rest will be thrown into a Kolkata-based manufacturing unit.
Hemant Sonawane, General Manager (PR) of Mahametro, said, “All advanced features, including station announcements, air conditioners, charging cellphones and display boards, will be available on each coach.” Rakes will have provisions to attach extra coaches, depending on their needs.
At present, Mahametro has bought Rakes from Metro Nagpur for initial trials and operations.
This Rakes will continue to be used until the new rakes completed the trial and safety examination.
Construction of Pimpri & Coarse Station in the advanced stage of work at Pimpri and Karasrwadi Station on Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation-Range Hills is increasing now in the advanced stage.
Mahametro said the station work was accelerated on all routes, including underground stretching.
Pimpri is the first station on the PCMC-Range Hills route.
The rough station will be integrated with train services.
Sant Tukaramnagar Station and Phugewadi are almost ready.
