Pune: The state government on Tuesday reduced RT-PCR test costs which quickly became RS1,975 from the current level RS4,500 and issued government resolution (gr) on this matter.
“Cost reduction will not only help travelers at the airport but also those who prefer fast RT-PCR tests for early detection of any infection.
Costs have been reduced with a little more than half,” said Rajesh Tope, Minister of Health.
This center has mandated a RT-PCR test for all tourists who come from “risky countries” after the emergence of the Omicron Coronavirus variant.
RT-PCR test kits that quickly provide reports in one hour, unlike normal RT-PCR tests that have more than five hours of completion time.
Tope tells the Toi that the exorbitant cost of the RT-PCR test that is fast at the airport is a big problem.
Finally, he said, the committee appointed by the Ministry of Public Health reduced the cost after several discussions.
The Grab state government states that three fast RT-PCR tests, two (Abbott ID and Thermo Fischer Acculus) will cost RS1,975, while the others (MD3 Fast gene) will be properarious at the price of RS975 at the airport, the train station, Covid care center, hospital or sample collection center.
The laboratory has been allowed to charge additional RS200 fees if the RT-PCR test is quickly done after collecting samples from the house.
GR states that the state can revise the cost of rapid RT-PCR tests if there is further reduction in the cost of the kit and if a tax reduction is collected by the state and the central government.
The revised RT-PCR level was proposed by the committee under Sudhakar Shinde, CEO of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, after several discussions with the laboratory.
“This tariff is decided after a comprehensive analysis of input and discussion costs with all stakeholders.
This tariff will apply with the direct effect,” Shinde said.
Health officials stated that the revised level of the fast RT-PCR test in Maharashtra could be the lowest in this country.
Previously, the Additional Principal of Dr.
Pradeep Vyas had written to the Ministry of Health of the Union to reduce the rapid level of RT-PCR test at Mumbai International Airport because the country has issued orders to test all passengers who come with international flights of risky countries “.
Earlier this week , the state has cut a normal RT-PCR test rate.
Revised cost as low as RS350 for testing at the collection location, RS500 for samples collected from the Covid and RS700 care centers for testing at home.
