Vadodara: Special Investigation Team (Sitting) on Wednesday questioned Mufti Farooq, a teacher at Darul Uloom in Maharashtra, whose name has emerged during the interrogation of Salahuddin Sheikh and Umar Gautam, accused of concerned and hawala rackets.
“We crossed both Sheikh and Farooq on Wednesday and asked them about Rs 5 Lakh Sheikh sent to Jammu and Kashmir.

“Ashraf, Basheer and Manzoor are Farooq students, a famous teacher in Akkalkuva in the Nandurbar district in Maharashtra.
Farooq was questioned only to get more details and he was not accused of this case,” the police said.
Sheikh and Umar have told the researchers that they sent the crores of the rupee they received through Hawala funds to Malegaon, Malda, Nepal, Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Kerala in the last five years.
Sheikh received more than Rs 60 Crore through Hawala and other RS 19 Crores as a donation from British residents Abullah Fefdawala, who sent money with hawala.
The duo was arrested by the police for a few months ago.
