Maharashtra to cut RT-PCR interest rates at the airport

Pune: Maharashtra Additional Secretary of the Chief Dr.
Pradeep Vyas has written to the Union of the Ministry of Health to reduce the rapid rate of RT-PCR test at Mumbai International Airport because the country has issued orders to test all passengers who arrive on international flights.
The current level for RT-PCR tests that are fast at the airport is RS4,500 and the operator has agreed to bring it to RS3,900.
However, the state health authority feels that it must be reduced further and the uniform rate must be carried out at all international airports after the omicron variant and testing made for passengers.
Earlier this week, the state has cut the RT-PCR test rate to RS350 to increase testing.
The sources of the Public Health Department told TII that operators who conducted tests must share several percent of income with airport operators.
“It seems necessary that this level was revealed immediately and the advantage of the decomputing fortune at the passenger fee was limited,” said the letter.
State health officials say that reducing costs around the RS2500 is being discussed.
The final decision will be announced soon.
Apparently, the tariff is lacking at other international airports, such as Bengaluru, Kochi and Chennai.
In addition to the cost of the kit, the letter also called for the appropriate use of kits.
“CBNAAT TEST targets N2 Plus Gen E, Trunat targets the Rnasep Gen plus RDRP, but we understand that in a fast RPCR test only n genes (Thermofisher) and RDRP (Abbott) are tested.
This might be checked if it is possible to direct to use even for RP RT -PCR test kits with 2 or 3 genes to increase sensitivity given the increase in the threat of covid infection from international passengers at the airport, “the letter said.
