Bhandara: The hospital staff pointed to the newly installed smoke detector, fire extinguisher and fire hose spool along the corridor when he guided Tim TII to a newborn treatment unit (SNCU) from the Bhandara District General Hospital, 60 km from Nagpur.
A fire had left 10 newborns die in Sncu on the night which determined January 9, 2021.
A year later, improvements and renovation work was almost finished at SNCU which was hit by the hospital.
Save for the remaining construction material, SNCU appeared magnificent among other departments from a 350 bed hospital.
Some workers are given a final touch with new gas pipes and furniture.
A few more fire safety installations such as large water tanks are almost complete.
DR Riyaz Farooqui’s civil surgeon said SNCU which was changed would function on January 15.
“The second wave of Covid and revisions in the fire safety proposal, electricity and renovation lifted work for several months,” said Dr.
Farooqui.
Along with fire safety equipment, hospital staff have also conducted exercises to meet the possibility of future investigation.
Collector District Sandeep Kadam said the fire exercises were usually carried out in the past year.
“Because the Covid case increased, Covid staff and the other at the hospital would take refresher courses.
The hospital received almost Rs 4crore, including Rs 2 Crore for API installations, RS1.29crore for electrical equipment, and RS 45LAKH to upgrade SNCU.
Short circuits Has become a Hospital Hospital since the inauguration in 2016.
After the tragedy, the care of newborns shifted to the OPD flu on the other side of the main building.
On Friday, the staff in charge of telling TOI that the emergency newborn baby care began around 15 days after Last year “Sometimes after January 9, some parents will come to check us at curfew,” said a nurse.

Asked about the actions against guilty, Kadam said this problem was subjudice now.
“The police have submitted Chargesheet against the three defendants,” he said.
A doctor and two nurses, all contractual staff, were stopped and ordered by the police.
The civil surgeon said PWD would hand over SNCU on Monday.
“After that, we will begin the fumigation process for the next three days.
A report will come in a week.
On Monday, it is planned to start,” said Farooqui.
He added that new equipment has also been purchased for SNCU which has a capacity of 36 beds.
“New radiation heaters have come.
We have more workers too.
Two new pediatric experts join, taking the number to six and 28 nurses for SNCU,” he said.
