Washington: The United States has warned Americans traveling abroad to make “emergency plans” when countries around the world wrestle with the increasing number of Covid-19 cases driven by Omicron variants.
“US citizens who choose to travel internationally, have to make an emergency plan, because they may have to stay in a foreign country longer than the planned initially, which will at their own expense.
Department recommends international travel insurance with coverage for Covid’s related travel cancellation and medical benefits, “said the US Department of State in a statement.
“International travel challenges during Covid-19 US citizens who choose to travel internationally must realize that they might face unexpected challenges related to Covid-19 when they try to return to the United States or try to travel from one location abroad to Another location, “the statement was added.
The US State Department also noted that all air travelers aged two years and over, were asked to show the documentation of the results of the negative virus test taken in one day after flight departure to the US, or recovery documentation from Covid-19.
This issue underlines the seriousness by US officials approaching the new Omicron variant, the spread has caused a lack of staff and reduction, the hill reported.
This happened when the US witnessed a significant increase in the Covid-19 case because of the emergence of the new Omicron Coronavirus variant.
On Tuesday, the US set a new one-day infection record, with 441,278 Covid-19 cases.
Recordings of the number of cases have caused cancellations of thousands of flights in and out.
On Thursday, the administration of federal flights warned that US travelers could expect more flights to be canceled because the Omicron variant continued to surge throughout the country.
